We address the very important issue of opening the U.S. back up, despite new cases and new deaths due to the Coronavirus. Listen as we get cynical (lol) but real, and discuss the concerns about educational opportunities gap widening, and divide between low-income people and the super-wealthy.

Dive in as we discuss power and privilege are prioritized over scientific facts about infectious disease. Thank you, Sabeen, for the suggestion to check out the Netflix show called Patriot Act with Hassan Minaj. Let us all watch it.

Key takeaways from this episode include:

1. Three mantras to use: one day at a time- that’s all we got, this too shall pass and it is okay to not be okay.

1. What in the world are we going to do in the Northeast if we cannot go outside this summer??!! Stop it. We will be ok and stay inside, and take one for the team and for the community.

2. Clinical trials are currently underway in the quest towards developing a coronavirus vaccine at some point. Yay or Nay? Google The Tuskegee Experiment.

3. Every day is a new day. Every day is a different day. How do you decide how to show up each day? Utilize your existing self-care techniques with some adjustments. Please follow your routines and protect your energy.

4. People need immediate and continuous financial support to get through this period in time. Be creative and think outside of the box on how to survive and take care of your mental health.

5. This is a spiritual awakening. Pause. Look inward and do the work. We will have a new world after this virus is eradicated.

Until next time, remember to live, laugh, love and keep it real.
