T.A.P.T.

Dec 9, 2020

In this week's episode, we discuss the pressures of the holidays and how hard it can be to say no to your family. No matter how much you get along with your fam, family time can be intense. It's easy to get caught up in all the guilt-tripping that happens around this time. A lot of us are tired of slaving in the kitchen even if it can be fun. By the way, give Sabeen her hot salted caramel hot cocoa mix throughout the year and not just during the holidays!

Key takeaways from this episode:

1. Not everyone celebrates these holidays so be mindful of how you approach people during the holidays. Because not everyone has a healthy family dynamic and this isn’t a water cooler conversation. And in a lot of cases, not everyone has traditional family dynamics.

2. Make the holidays your own, don’t worry about what society says how you should celebrate. Taking care of yourself can mean not attending family gatherings.

3. Also, what's it like for people who are not Christians and the disparity between which holidays are celebrated and which ones are not celebrated? Hmm, what's that about...oh we already know.

4. Don’t be afraid to not follow the typical norms during the holidays and if you feel like doing your own thing, do it. Tonika’s about the tans. Sabeen & Frantzces are all about the travel.
